This is to cover postage, insurance and handling.
Absolutely! Please book in for a design consultation with our designers so we can give you a quote. Bring along any materials and pictures of your ideal designs along to the consultation.
Our talented jewellery designers can help provide ideas for your engagement ring. We have an abundance of ready-to-wear examples that we can show you in our store. Alternatively, if you’re not sure where to start, try having a look at her jewellery collection or taking note of the types of shapes and colours that she likes to wear. Another great idea is discreetly speaking to her friends and relatives to see what ideas they may have.
Yes, you can. This might be the ideal solution if you are not completely sure what design she would like. We would be happy to supply a presentation box to impress and at a later stage you can come in to design the engagement ring together.
If she wears a ring already on her left-hand ring finger, we can quickly work out her size if you can sneak it into us. You can also try wearing her ring on your finger to ‘feel’ where it fits best. Alternatively, you can ask her friends to relatives to discreetly ask if she has ever had her finger sized. Another option is to try measuring the inside diameter of her rings with a string or imprinting it onto a piece of blue tack. These methods may not be exactly accurate, but will give us a good idea of where to start. If it’s not the perfect fit, don’t stress! We include a complimentary resize with all of our custom hand-made rings so you can relax knowing that your ring will be taken care of from start to finish.
When it comes to cost of an engagement ring the price will depend on your selected ring design, choice of metal and choice of gemstone/s. For custom designs, we welcome you to make a jewellery design consultation with one of our talented designers to see how we can bring your jewellery dreams to life. Engagement rings generally start from $3,000. If you have a budget already in mind, we can work with this and provide you with a few options and guidance on what materials would be best to suit your needs.
When it comes to hand crafting your engagement ring, turnaround times can vary between 6-8 weeks, depending on the time of year your book in your ring. If you have a special date in mind, please let us know and we will do our best to meet this deadline.
A 30% deposit is required prior to a job starting to secure materials and allocation of your job into our workshop.

Gold, Diamonds and Gemstones
The modern birthstone list was formally established in 1912 by the American National Association of Jewellers (now known as Jewellers of America). At Artisans Bespoke Jewellers, however, we believe that these traditions should serve as inspiration rather than strict rules. We feel it is far more important for you to express your personality and to genuinely love every single gemstone within your piece, rather than feeling confined to the traditionally assigned birthstones.

March – Aquamarine

We can manufacture jewellery in 9ct Yellow, Rose or White Gold, 18ct Yellow, Rose or White Gold and Platinum.
Colour is one of the first things people consider when it comes to designing jewellery.
If your preference is white, you have a choice between White Gold and Platinum. They are quite different metals with different properties. Our jewellers work with these metals every day and if your design lends itself to a particular choice, we will be happy to give you our guidance.
When it comes to choosing between Platinum or White Gold, there are many factors to consider that will affect your engagement ring design. White Gold and Platinum both have their advantages and disadvantages and design choice can play a big part in selecting the right metal for you. At Artisans Bespoke Jewellers, we prefer to work with White Gold as it is lighter, keeps its lustre and is easier to work with from a manufacturing point of view without settling on quality. However, it is really down to personal preference.
Platinum is inherently stronger than white gold and is recommended if your design is very fine. The density of Platinum means it wears away more slowly than White Gold and delicate details will be less fragile. Whilst its density can offer many benefits, it also has a few drawbacks. Platinum is a very malleable metal, and as a result it loses it polish quite quickly and square edges will begin to round off. In contrast, White Gold maintains it polish for longer and is often a better choice if your design has square edges, an engraved surface or bevelled details.
Another separating factor is colour. While Platinum is a naturally white metal, gold is naturally yellow and White Gold is made white by alloying it with other metals such as Palladium. Because of the yellow metal content, White Gold is slightly grey in colour. This can be corrected by a surface treatment called Rhodium plating. Rhodium plating is the application of a very thin layer of a metal called Rhodium that is electrically plated on to the surface of the white gold to change its colour. This plating wears off over time and needs to be reapplied. The plating can last around 3 years if you take good care of your jewellery.
The final consideration is cost, as Platinum is more expensive than White Gold. The difference can be anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand depending on how heavy the piece of jewellery is. Keep in mind future purchases too, as we recommend matching the metal for your wedding and eternity rings to your engagement ring, which reduces wear and tear and ensures the colour will match perfectly.
If you would like more advice regarding which metal to choose, feel free to book an obligation free appointment with one of our jewellers to discuss which option better suits your requirements.
We generally are able to melt yellow or rose gold to be incorporated into your custom make. However, we’re unable to melt white gold due to the nature of how the alloys are combined, which is prone to cracking when melted. The gold will need to be carefully assessed by our jewellers as gold can come in a variety of qualities and grades. To ensure we can use the gold from your collection please contact us to book a jewellery design consultation.
We would love to incorporate your diamond into the design. If it is a sentimental/heirloom diamond or already set in a piece of jewellery, we can professionally unset the stone for you as part of the production process. However, if it is a diamond that has been purchased online, we cannot guarantee its quality or provenance and therefore wouldn’t be able to use it. However, we work with a variety of fantastic diamond suppliers and we will be able to source a diamond that fits your requirements and budget.
We encourage you to personally come and see a selection of our loose gem stones prior to being set into a design. This is part of your design consultation and will help you to make an informed decision.
Rather than being limited to what a retail supplier can provide, at Artisans Bespoke Jewellers we work with amazing gemstone suppliers who are able to source high quality, certified diamonds and coloured gemstones to cater to your design needs. There is nothing quite like choosing ‘the one’ gemstone for your one-of-a-kind engagement ring design.
Because you will buy direct from Artisans Bespoke Jewellers, we can pass on our savings direct to you as we don’t have the same large overhead costs associated with chain retail stores, giving you real value for money for your design.
We can also incorporate your own gemstones into our designs, even if they’re already set in an existing piece of jewellery.
At Artisans Bespoke Jewellers we sell loose diamonds as well as a wide variety of coloured gemstones. You’re most welcome to book a consultation with our jewellers to view our range of gemstones. Alternatively, we can special order custom gemstones in a variety of cuts, shapes and colours to suit your needs. Please contact us to find out more information.
During your design consultation, we will educate you on the 4 C’s – Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat and help guide you through the diamond buying process to understand the qualities that would be best suited for your design needs. You will have the opportunity to view a selection of loose gems under a loupe and be stepped through each of their diamond certifications. Our jewellers are always more than happy to answer any of your questions you may have so you can make an informed decision.
All of diamonds we hand select for our clients over 0.50ct in size are independently certified from the GIA (Gemmological Institute of America), GSL (Gem Studies Laboratory) or DCLA (Diamond Certification Lab of Australia). We can also provide uncertified diamonds.
Artisans Bespoke Jewellers prides itself on the standard of it’s workmanship and the quality of our products. Artisans Bespoke Jewellers do not sell or deal with any suppliers who deals or sells conflict diamonds. We take this issue very seriously and only work with suppliers who can confirm this with us.
Our expert team can help you make an informed decision about the natural diamonds you choose to purchase.
Please contact us if you have any questions about your diamond purchase or our diamond selection.
All valuations are completed independantly to avoid bias. For all of our handmade jewellery pieces we always recommend a valuation certificate for proof of purchase and for insurance purposes. Independant Valuation Certificates start from $110 per item.

General Maintenance and Care
To gently clean your jewellery at home, soak the piece in a bowl of warm water with a small amount of mild dish washing detergent for a few minutes or a few hours for even better results. Using a baby toothbrush, carefully clean around the settings and underneath where dirt, oils, creams can build up. Rinse thoroughly in clean running water and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth or facial tissue. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, ultrasonic cleaners (specifically for soft or coloured gemstones), or scrubbing delicate gemstones, as these may damage the piece. For fine jewellery, we always recommend a regular professional servicing and inspections to maintain its beauty and longevity. Visit us in-store anytime for our team to inspect and advise.
Yes, we offer jewellery repairs and professional cleaning services completed onsite by our experienced workshop team. Regular jewellery maintenance is essential in helping to prevent more significant repairs over time. Much like servicing a vehicle, we recommend an annual inspection for any jewellery worn frequently to ensure settings, claws, and structural components remain secure and in optimal condition. To learn more, please refer to our jewellery repair policy or contact our team to discuss your piece further.
For items worn daily, we generally recommend everything 12 months.
We recommend storing jewellery individually in either a box or soft pouch. It’s important not to store multiple pieces together, as this can lead to the settings or stones, rubbing or scratching.
Yes they can with general daily wear. If you feel your ring catching on your clothing, this could be a sign that the setting is opening up and could lead to stone loss. This is why a regular maintenance plan is so important to prolong the lifespan of your pieces. If you’re unsure, contact our team or visit us in-store for an inspection and advice.
